Margaret Thatcher

Queen of Soho

Created by Jon Brittain and Matt Tedford

‘I was lost, alone in the middle of deepest, darkest Soho, it soon became clear I was going the wrong way, and I could have turned back... but you all know my opinion on turning.’

Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho is a hilarious drag comedy cabaret musical extravaganza that started life as a 15 minute sketch above a pub in Battersea and has gone on to become a bona fide cult sensation.

On the eve of the vote for the homophobic Section 28, Maggie gets lost in Soho and accidentally becomes a cabaret superstar, but will she change her mind about the legislation before it’s too late?

A story of power, betrayal and handbags, with cameos from Peter Tatchell, Sir Ian McKellen and Winston Churchill, and featuring more gay anthems than a night out in Heaven… All sung by the Iron Lady of course.

Starring the inimitable Matt Tedford as Mrs T and co-written and directed by Evening Standard and Olivier Award Winner Jon Brittain, Queen of Soho is a crowd pleasing, critically acclaimed, award winning, cult hit show that’s taken the Edinburgh Fringe, London’s West End, and a small arts centre in Maidstone by storm.
